Miss Cambodian American 2015 Rules and Regulations

 

Please read the Rules and Regulations in the entirely. Then click to apply online. Application deadline is May 15, 2015.

Thank you for your interest in Miss Cambodian American DC (MCADC). We will host a presentation of contestants on September 6th 2015 at Vatt Buddhikarama (Cambodian Buddhist Temple) in Silver Spring, Maryland and our final competition will be held on November 21st, 2015 at Harvest Moon Restaurant, Falls Church, Virginia. All contestants who participate in this pageant hereby expressly agree to and bound by the following, but not limited to, rules and regulations:

  • Born female
  • Must be at least 25% Asian
  • Must have Cambodian ancestry
  • Be between the ages of 16 to 26 years (16 years old by 6/21/15)
  • Single, never been married nor pregnant
  • Be of good moral character
  • Must have never been arrested or convicted of any crime
  • Must have never modeled for nude photography or any sexually explicit materials
  • Legal Resident of United States

Time Commitment for the pageant

All contestants participating in MCADC must be available for "Pre-Pageant" training and rehearsals. Contestants agree to participate in a disciplined and diligent manner throughout the training program in accordance with the schedule of events that will be given to them and participate in all the rehearsals.

If contestant is unavailable to show up, she must directly let MCADC know ahead of time as early as possible to make the adjustment. Three (3) "no shows" will result in a disqualification.

MCADC will have the exclusive right to arrange appearances on radio, television, cable, internet, or other broadcast media by the Contestants for promoting the event.

Contestants grant MCADC the right to record any performance or public appearance by contestants and reproduce, broadcast, or publish these events without compensation, unless prohibited by law. Contestants also waive the right to inspect or approve such pictures, advertising, videos used in connection thereof.

Contestants agree that the judges ' decisions on all matters related to the pageant are final, absolute and contractually binding.

For the winners

All public appearances of the winners, Titleholder and the Runner-Ups in any clothing, apparel, or accompanying publicity/signage identifying her as winners of the Miss Cambodian American DC shall be subject to approval of the MCADC committee. All the winners must refer ALL Requests for appearances from commercial businesses, charitable organizations or other Pageant committee members to MCADC committee.

The Winners shall make themselves available for all personal appearances at all scheduled events throughout their reign. Each winner further understands that the inability to fulfill her contract may result in the forfeiture of her title and all prizes must be returned and her successor will take her place for the remainder of the year.

During this period (the "Year of Service"), the duties of Miss Cambodia American DC may include travel and participation in personal appearances to represent the Cambodian Community of Washington DC Metropolitan area.

MCADC has the exclusive right to reject the contestants for any inappropriate appearances or behaviors.

MCADC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change, modify or otherwise alter these Terms and Conditions of Use at any time.

All donations are tax-deductible to the extent of the law. A financial statement is available upon written request from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer services, Office of Charitable and Regulatory Programs.

Sam Relief Dec 2012 Newsletter

Sam Relief was very busy in early April of 2012 and has delivered another 10 tons of rice to Angkor Children Hospital at Siem Reap.

Replica of Angkor Wat

We have bought a replica of Angkor Wat (picture shown above). It is a sculpture made out from stone, by a sculptor in Pursat province, Cambodia. It is 1.3 meter long, 1.1 meter wide and .35 meter high. It took more than 2 months to complete the sculpture. Click the picture to enlarge.


Phare Ponleu Selpak

Phare Ponleu Selpak (website: www.phareps.org) is a Cambodian association providing artistic activities to children and adults around the Battambang vicinity. The artistic fields are: performing arts (circus, theater, dancing, music), visual arts (cartoon animation, painting contemporary, illustration and graphic design) and social actions (governmental school pre-school through high school, child care center, and transitional youth house).
